Veterans Affairs

The Veterans Service Officer performs administrative work in advising armed forces veterans and dependents of benefits available under federal, state, and local laws.

  • Files and processes veterans claims
  • Counels veterals on issues that they may be facing and directs or refers them to the correct professional services
  • Responds to Veteran's affairs letters
  • Advises persons currently in the armed forces concerning family allotments, hardship status, disability provisions and other armed forces benefits
  • Assists pensioned veterand and widows in completing their annual income and medical expense reporting requirements
  • Assist widow and widowers in securing Department of Veteran Affairs death benefits
  • Advises on home loans and assitance in obtaining Certificates of Eligibility
