§ 19-3-71. Appointment of county fire coordinator
The board of supervisors in each county shall appoint a county fire coordinator, and may compensate him from any available county funds. The county fire coordinator shall serve as a liaison between the Commissioner of Insurance and local governments and shall be a firefighter who is a member of a fire crew of a volunteer or municipal fire department serving any fire district, county, or municipality. The director of the local organization for emergency management serving the county may be such a coordinator if he is a firefighter as described in this section.
